- The Public Theater presents The National Asian American Theatre Company's production of Awake and Sing!. The show, which begins July 6, will officially open July 13 for a run through Aug. 1.

I Hope I Get It (CASTING)
- Misty Copeland will join the Broadway cast of On the Town, stepping into the role of aspiring ballet dancer Ivy Smith, for two weeks, Aug. 25-Sept. 6, replacing Megan Fairchild, a New York City Ballet principal dancer who is leaving the show to return to that dance company. A permanent replacement has not yet been announced. Copeland will appear only at the Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening shows and the Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees. The show will also have a Saturday and Sunday evening performance during those weeks.
- Javier Munoz will star star as Alexander Hamilton once a week in the Broadway production of Hamilton. The show's creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, will play seven performances a week.
One Song Glory (ALBUMS)
- A cast recording of the Stratford Festival's production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Carousel is now available for purchase online. Alexis Gordon and Jonathan Winsby star as Julie Jordan and Billy Bigelow under the direction of Susan H. Schulman.
A Foggy Day in London Town (UK NEWS)
- Gugu Mbatha-Raw is to star in the title role of Jessica Swale's Nell Gwynn, beginning performances Sept. 19 prior to an official opening Sept. 24 for a run through Oct. 11 at Shakespeare's Globe, as the last show in the theatre's summer season.

- Twitter and Facebook lit up Sunday evening and Monday morning after several cast members and audience members posted their speechlessness at a report that an audience member had clambered onto the stage of the Booth Theatre and tried to plug a cell phone charger into an outlet on the set of Hand to God.
- Kinky Boots will implement a new digital lottery, allowing potential audience members to purchase $37 day-of tickets from anywhere. Beginning July 13 the digital ticket lottery will replace the previous lottery policy, in which entries were accepted only outside the Al Hirschfeld Theatre box office (302 West 45th Street) two hours prior to curtain time.
