- Following the success of the one-night-only June 8 Broadway concert staging of the Marilyn Monroe-inspired musical Bombshell, which was born from the NBC series "Smash," Universal Stage Productions has announced that the property is in development as a full-length stage musical.
I Hope I Get It (CASTING)
- The full cast has been announced for The American Repertory Theater's upcoming production of the world premiere of Waitress, the new Sara Bareilles musical that will play the Cambridge, MA venue Aug. 2-Sept. 27 with an official opening Aug. 19.
I Heard It Through the Grapevine (RUMORS)
- "Downton Abbey" is being adapted as a stage musical that would go on a global theatrical tour by series composer John Lunn and the show's creator Julian Fellowes. “There’s talk of Julian Fellowes and I and some of the cast doing a live tour the way Dr. Who did; 70 percent of it will be music from the show,” Lunn was quoted as saying.

- An immersive production of Carrie The Musical is set to return to Los Angeles, reopening at the historic Los Angeles Theatre this October.
They Mean Chicago, Illinois (CHICAGO NEWS)
- Adapted and performed by Ronald Keaton, the Off-Broadway production of Churchill is now set to close July 12 and will return to Chicago's Greenhouse Theater Center July 17 for another engagement.
A Foggy Day in London Town (UK NEWS)
- Full casting has been announced for the world premiere of Tamsin Oglesby's Future Conditional which will inaugurate Matthew Warchus's first season at the helm of London's Old Vic. It begins performances Sept. 1 prior to an official opening Sept. 10. The cast will be led by Rob Brydon, supported by 23 young performers.
- The new U.K. touring production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins is to star Zizi Strallen in the title role with Matt Lee as Bert. It will begin performances at Leicester's Curve Oct. 13 for a run through Oct. 24.
I Want to Go to Hollywood (MOVIE NEWS)
- Helen Mirren's Tony-winning performance as Queen Elizabeth II in Peter Morgan's Broadway and West End drama The Audience will be broadcast in selected movie theatres June 25.
Let Me Be Your Star (TV NEWS)
- Neil Patrick Harris' new hour-long TV variety show, "Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris," will premiere Sept. 15 on NBC.

- Sutton Foster has been tapped to host the seventh annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards/Jimmy Awards in New York City on June 29.
